Pasi Sormunen Wins OlyBet Showdown Tallinn €555 Championship
OlyBet Showdown Tallinn

Wednesday roared on at the 2026 OlyBet Showdown Tallinn with four new champions crowned at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park. In addition, the €1,100 Main Event kicked off on Wednesday and will continue until a winner is crowned on Saturday evening, with two more opening flights on Thursday.

Finland’s Pasi Sormunen was the star of the day after navigating through a field of 127 entries to win the €15,575 top prize, the largest single tournament prize thus far this festival. Poland’s Krzysztof Budka earned the €1,030 top prize and bounties, the trophy, and bragging rights after winning the €200 PLO5 Deepstack Progressive Bounty. Vietnam’s Thuy Anh Dao came back with a short-stack to win the €200 NLH for €2,755.

Meanwhile, it was de ja vu for the poker.pro team. On Tuesday, Glenn Brown dazzled the crowd with an amazing comeback to win the €200 PLO4/PLO5. Even more unexpected on Wednesday was that Terje “Teddy” Bremseth won the title in the €200 PL Sviten / PLO5 Round of Each for €3,156 after defeating fellow Norwegian and Epicbet founder Jan Svendsen heads-up. This event provided tons of entertainment, with Bremseth believing he was eliminated with four players left, only to come back with less than a small blind in his stack.

Speaking of Epicbet, they have combined forces with The Festival Series and OlyBet Poker to boast a €200 Myster Bounty tournament on Saturday, along with a fun €65 Sportsbook Tournament, which is already open for players to register.

Pasi Sormunen Wins €555 NLH Championship

Pasi Sormunen

The two-day €555 NLH Championship attracted 127 runners between its sole opening day on Tuesday to create a €60,325 prize pool. The final 15 players returned on Wednesday already in the money for at least a €1,100 min-cash.

It was an international affair, as can be evidenced from the top seven players in this event, all hailing from different countries. The podium was secure after the formidable British poker beast and 2018 Irish Poker Open Main Event champion Ryan Mandara hit the rail in fourth place for €5,350. Italy’s Mario Colavita was the next to go in third place for €7,310, setting the stage for another Finland vs. Estonia battle at Olympic Park Casino.

Estonia won the first three multi-day events, but a sweep of the board this festival won’t be possible, as Finland’s Pasi Sormunen won the trophy and the €15,575 top prize, spoiling the hopes of the home crown. Meanwhile, Estonia’s Siim Kabel will have plenty of reasons to still be happy, despite missing out on the trophy, after collecting his €10,530 runner-up prize.

Krzysztof Budka Wins €200 PLO5 Deepstack Progressive Bounty

The €200 PLO5 Deepstack Progressive Bounty attracted 47 entries, creating €7,591 in prizes, including €3,760 in bounties. Estonian and Finnish players were all eliminated before the heads-up battle between Poland’s Krzysztof Budka and Latvia’s Uldis Lejnieks. Both players earned the €1,030 top prize from the prize pool before Budka eliminated Lejnieks to claim the big bounty and the trophy.

Thuy Anh Dao Wins €200 NLH

The turbo-charged €200 NLH attracted 50 entries, creating €8,075 in prizes. Vietnam’s Thuy Anh Dao entered the final table in jeopardy of bubbling as the short stack.

Not only did she cash, but came from behind to win the event for €2,755 after defeating Sweden’s Lars-Ove Jonsson heads-up en route to the title.

While both Estonians and Finns were shut out of the payout table, players representing five different countries cashed.

Teddy Wins Trophy in €200 PL Sviten / PLO5

The €200 PL Sviten / PLO5 Round of Each attracted 57 entries for a €9,206 prize pool. With four players left, in the very friendly affair, Finland’s Andreas Backlund, who was going for back-to-back trophies after shipping the €350 NLH Progressive Bounty on Tuesday, thought he had eliminated Terje Bremseth, also affectionately known as Teddy, in a hand of Sviten Special, where he won both ends of the pot.

Bremseth also walked away from the table only to learn he still had less than a big blind to run up. Backlund, himself, was in a similar spot earlier at the final table, witnessing Bremseth come back before hitting the rail himself in fourth place for €1,360.

Estonia’s Marten Rimmel then ended his deep run in third place for €1,360, leaving two Norwegian poker enthusiasts and entrepreneurs heads-up for the title. Both players appeared to be hungrier for the trophy rather than the prize pool, and it was Bremseth who earned bragging rights after eliminating Svendsen in second place for €2,030, with Bremseth getting a monkey off his back by earning his first OlyBet trophy after suffering through several close calls in the past and the €3,156 top prize.
