2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Day 6: Edgaras Baranauskas Leads Main Event
2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius

It was an action-packed Thursday at Olympic Casino Lietuva as the 2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius moved onto its sixth day. The crown jewel of the festival in the 2025 OlyBet Showdown witnessed its final two opening flights played out while two other players were busy earning trophies in side events.

The three Main Event opening flights attracted 160 entries with 59 players finding bags to Friday’s Day 2. The field will continue to grow with late registration open for the first two hour-long blind levels of the day after cards kick off at 12 pm.

Edgaras Baranauskas snagged the overall chip lead on Day 1b after catapulting his 30,000 opening stack into a 126 big blind stack of 251,500 with Laurynas Černiauskas (242,000) and Mindaugas Kriaučiūnas (200,000) also advancing with at least 200,000. Finland’s Jarmo Salonen and Norway’s Drea Karlsen performed the best from the out-of-towners, with both players starting Day 2 with 125,000 in chips.

Meanwhile, Finland’s Leevi Kangasluoma won the basketball-themed €200 NLH OlyBet x Euroleague Premium Sponsorship Celebration for €4,451 and Valerij Dobrinskij shipped the €250 NLH Progressive Bounty for €1,954 plus bounties.

Leevi Kangasluoma Wins €200 NLH OlyBet x Euroleague Premium Sponsorship

The €200 NLH OlyBet x Euroleague Premium Sponsorship brought basketball fans and poker enthusiasts together for an evening of poker camaraderie. The event attracted 94 runners to create a €15,181 prize pool.

Finland’s Veeti Valasti was the first player out in the money in 11th place for €400, making it highly likely that the trophy would stay in Lithuania, with nine out of the ten remaining players from the home country.

However, Lithuanian players hit the rail one by one before Finland’s Leevi Kangasluoma dashed the hopes of the local players to win the trophy and the €4,451 top prize after defeating Aivaras Lukauskas heads-up.

Valerij Dobrinskij Wins Trophy in €250 NLH Progressive Bounty

While Lithuania was blanked from the winners circle in the €200 NLH OlyBet x Euroleague Premium Sponsorship, the local poker community did go home with a trophy later in the evening in the €250 NLH Progressive Bounty.

The trophy was guaranteed to stay on home soil after Netherlands’ Koen Roos finished in third place for €1,270 plus bounties, leaving Valerij Dobrinskij and Ernestas Stalemekas heads-up for the title, with both players already locking up the €1,954 top prize from the prize pool.

Dobrinskij defeated Stalemekas to win the big bounty to end the tournament portion of the evening while many others players continued to enjoy the cash games as has been the case throughout the festival.

The €250 NLH Progressive Bounty attracted 72 runners to create €15,048 in prizes including €7,200 in bounties.
